Health & Safety

Safety Culture

The health and safety of all ACTS staff and that of everyone we come into contact with through the course of our business activities, is of paramount importance to us. Formal Health and Safety Training, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and regular Toolbox Talks are the foundations of our Safety Management System. We take every reasonable step to ensure that safe working practices are an intrinsic part of our culture.

We are very proud to be an approved supplier under the SAFE Contractor scheme.
Environmentally Friendly

As a responsible, professionally run business we fully appreciate our environmental obligations. Wherever possible we source and supply materials with the lowest possible environmental impact. All our operatives are trained to safely and responsibly remove, recycle or dispose of any waste materials generated through the course of their work.

Method Statement

When working in occupied buildings appointments should be made before the commencement of all works and their proposed duration agreed. All operatives must produce an ID card during each visit to the works. A work sheet must be signed, both before works are commenced and after completion confirming times at site. An emergency telephone number must be provided during the progress of the works.

Agreement with the incumbents should be made when any interruption of services is likely to take place and the duration of this interruption should be kept to a minimum. No storage of materials at the premises or within the curtilage of the premises will be permitted without express permission. Any such permission should be obtained prior to commencement of the works. All surplus and waste materials must be removed from site on a daily basis.

All walkways and material storage areas must be protected by waterproof and damage proof sheeting so that existing furnishings and garden areas do not suffer damage during the duration of the works.

Agreement should be made and a provision for payment proposed for the use of mains services at the site. Should this agreement not be forthcoming then the operatives will provide their own generated supply. It is essential that dust and noise are kept to a minimum and warnings given when these are likely to be excessive.

110 volt power tools only will be permitted whilst working inside any occupied building or public area. On completion of the works all work areas should be left clean and tidy.
